Working Partnerships

Over the years, the awareness of the role of dogs as active helpers in various situations has grown enormously. For centuries we have looked on many animals simply as working creatures but nowadays we are learning to accord them a new status as working partners. Dogs are the domestic animals that respond best to training; they are usually quick to learn and enjoy the training process and when fully trained there can be little doubt about the enthusiasm with which they fulfil their roles. Police dogs are a classic example of animals that have been trained to work for and with humans, for the protection of the community.

Other examples of this unique working relationship between man and dog include:

PAT dogs
Guide Dogs for the Blind
Hearing Dogs for the Deaf
Assistance Dogs for Disabled People
