Assistance Dogs for Disabled People

The quality of life for people with physical disabilities can be dramatically improved by an assistance dog. The dog is trained to perform certain tasks such as opening doors and bringing objects to the owner, and also provides valuable companionship. A new charity, Assistance Dogs for Disabled People, was established in 1990 to train Golden Retrievers with a specialist system developed in Holland.
